BRING. BACK. TRADITIONAL. ART.
the 4 beliefs of Lani Amelia Fine Art
1. Bring back traditional art…
My motto is simple; Bring back traditional art.
Whilst there are many positives about art and the many forms it takes today, we as a society have suffered a great loss in the forgotten art form that is traditional art. Sadly, society has gone so far as to say a blank wall is art, thereby completely discrediting every artist that dedicates an incalculable amount of time to honing their craft.
My mission and aim is to remind people of the beauty of traditional art. Art as it was 200 years ago.
It is to depict my subject so accurately one questions whether or not it is a painting or a photo.
I believe you should know what the artwork is before you, what it is you are looking at and not have to rely on some airy fairy nonsense paragraph to describe it.
2. Slowly and lovingly made…
I also believe in bringing back slowly made art.
In a time where everything is quite literally at the touch of a button. We have collectively adopted a ‘right here, right now’ mentality, making us impatient and an unappreciative of the time that goes into the production of goods. This is very much seen in todays art market. Now, people can simply print off any image they want, whenever they want. So then, what need have they for art?
A hand painted, slowly made, one of a kind artwork is of far greater value to all and not just financially. Not only are you investing in a real person and the possibility that their art may become sort after, but you are investing in an heirloom. A keepsake. You are purchasing something that spoke to you and drew you emotionally. Will it take longer? Yes. Will it be made better? Yes. Will it be uniquely yours, unlike any other? Yes.
All good things come in time…
3. Made on Aussie soil…
As a proud Aussie, I am a big advocate for all things locally made. Supporting small Aussie businesses wherever possible is to give back to your community and country. It means supporting our country’s economy and of course, supporting each other as Australians. All of my pieces are 100% Aussie made.
We need to look out for each other. Buy from a small business and buy Australian.
4. Art is from Christ…
As a Christian artist, my artistic beliefs are strongly rooted in my faith.
I’m the first to admit my art is not perfect, but through practice and prayer, I can only get better. I will always strive to be better.
Always remembering that the ability to create is a gift from the Lord God, a gift blessed unto us to use for the glory of His kingdom.
I can create because He created first…
“Yet, O Lord, You are our Father.
We are the clay and You are our potter.
We are all the work of Your hand.” - Isaiah 68:8 NSV
